A Little About Me
My journey as an artist began years ago in the early 2000s, alongside my late husband, Hal, who was a talented tattoo artist and my mentor. I tattooed professionally for 8 years until roadblocks in life popped up, and we decided to shut down our shop. I have hopped back on the art ride in the last few years and am so glad I did. My only regret is that I did not start sooner.
When I started Pyrography, I discovered fascinating parallels between the intricate art of tattooing and the unique craft of wood-burning. This realization sparked a renewed passion, pushing me to explore new horizons.
I'm eager to experiment with materials like leather and bone, expanding my artistic boundaries beyond wood. I am also excited about Pastels, where I can now offer my work with vibrant colors. But it's not just about my growth and exploration; I find immense solace in sharing my experiences, embracing mistakes, and helping others in any way I can on their artistic journeys.
My commissioned pieces have found their way into homes throughout the United States and England, and the hope of expanding my reach is exciting but also scary. As Charred Treasures, my ultimate goal is to share my feelings, vision, and love of nature through my artwork. For custom pieces and commissions, it is to bring your ideas or memories to life, creating art that will stand the test of time. I invite you to make this journey with me!
